First up, now it's November (yikes!) I thought I'd tell you a little about this year's #hellosunshineINKtober challenge. I decided to start by drawing my favourite breeds of Cats and Dogs, naturally starting with my own tinkers...
Day 1 : Princess Pegs
Day 6 : Tammy the Persian
Day 31 : Saarloos Wolfhound
From Pets to people, I had a wonderful and slightly terrifying new experience with my Live Sunshine Portraits this weekend as I packed up my pencils and headed to my very first wedding. When Martin & Robbie asked me if I would doodle their wedding guests between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast I was absolutely thrilled! I have often thought of offering portraits as part of a wedding but never really given enough thought to how it would actually work so this was the exciting kick up the bum and boost I really needed.
I was quite scared at first as it all felt very new but as soon as I set myself up at the beautiful venue and the guests started coming over to chat, the doodles (and giggles) started to flow and I had the most wonderful two hours sketching guests in their beautiful outfits. I can't thank Martin & Robbie enough for their trust, encouragement and support with my first ever wedding event and hopefully this may be the start of something new and more regular for me.
Hopefully I'll be able to sneak a peek at photos from the day at some point in the future and share them with you as I was too busy scribbling to take any myself, but for now I'll share the latest part of my Hello Sunshine uniform for events... PENCIL SHOES!
Still on the Live Sunshine subject, I am also very excited and happy to share that I will be back at the brilliant Handmade Nottingham Winter Market on Sunday 19th November and I can't bloody wait!
A year ago, at this very event is where the Live Portrait journey started for me and Rhea and the team have been just the BEST at supporting me and inviting me back to take part in their markets throughout the year. It means a lot to be able to return and join the fun again, not only at such a fun event but also in my home town. If you're in the area please do pop in to The Malt Cross on St James Street. There will be plenty of wonderful stalls to shop from and a bar serving yummy cake, snacks and beverages so come say hello and even sit for a doodle if you're tempted!

As well as live portraits and drawing all the cats and dogs recently, I have also been keeping busy with your lovely digital portrait commissions. From weddings and anniversaries to pets and family birthdays, I've been a busy bee but am often unable to share them until after the events they are commissioned for. With Christmas coming up this means there's a lot of secret squirrel work happening but here's a selection of some recent favourites I am allowed to share with you...
I absolutely LOVE drawing people (and pets!) so if you are interested in a portrait, digital or watercolour, please do get in touch or visit the Hello Sunshine shop for more information and prices. I'll be taking commissions up until 30th November so make sure you get in touch before then if you'd like a bit of personalised Sunshine in time for Christmas.
Hope you enjoyed the SUNSHINE NEWS (heehee!) and come back soon for more info on new Christmas goodies and events coming up this festive season!
