Friday Sunshine ☀︎

Hello! It's that time of the week again and I have the most wonderful portrait I'd like to share with you all. You might have seen me post a peek last week over on instagram already but I wanted to share it over here too and tell you why I loved creating this portrait so much.

This is Emma and to celebrate her 30th Birthday her lovely husband Robin asked me to create a special Sunshine portrait of Emma and a few of her favourite things...

Not only did I love the fact I was able to draw such a cute portrait featuring the BEST yellow raincoat I ever did see and a huge mug of tea but Emma is a fellow creative who I had the absolute pleasure of meeting at Blogtacular this Summer. Emma and Robin have both bought treats from Hello Sunshine in the past too so there was a lot of love felt!

Emma has a wonderful blog called Em Makes and Bakes and has also recently launched CREATE! Craft Kits, which is a brilliant collaboration with Rachel of Handmade by Holchester. To celebrate the launch of CREATE! Emma and Rachel kindly crafted and sent the most perfect banner featuring my little Toby Cat silhouette design. It now hangs proudly in my studio and needless to say I was thrilled with both my gift and the idea of the kits, I mean look how bloody cute this is...

The craft kits are perfect to get craft lovers of all abilities making and each kit is designed to teach you step-by-step how to create something beautiful whilst also allowing the maker to be creative. There are currently 4 kits available in the Handmade by Holchester Etsy shop. Make sure you pop over and have a look, I'm in love with the cotton candy dance fabric - how about you?

Hopefully you can see now why I was so excited when Mr Makes got in touch and asked me to create a portrait of Emma. Not only is it one of the sweetest I've doodled for a while but it also means a lot to know that fellow creatives are so happy to receive and commission work from me!

Hope you all enjoyed this little bit of Friday Sunshine and make sure you pop over to Emma's blog and lovely, colourful instagram feed to say hello and discover her wonderful world of crafting! I'll be back soon with some more Sunshine sharing but in the mean time...
